Tour Experience

What to expect on the tour

What actually happens on a food tour?

Meet your guide in the heart of town and set off on a relaxed, three-hour walking adventure. Along the way, you’ll visit several locally owned restaurants for curated tastings while hearing the stories, history, and hidden gems that make the destination unique. Come hungry, wear comfortable shoes, and get ready to experience the destination through its flavors.

How long does the tour last?

Plan for about three hours from start to finish. We keep a relaxed pace so there’s plenty of time to eat, chat, and take in the scenery between stops.

Will I be full?

Yes. Come hungry. The tastings add up to a full meal’s worth of food, so we recommend skipping lunch beforehand and arriving with an appetite.

Food & Dietary Needs

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

We gladly work with our restaurant partners to accommodate dietary restrictions whenever possible with at least 72 hours’ notice. While some requests may be accommodated, we cannot guarantee substitutions or prevent cross-contamination, as all tastings are prepared in independent restaurant kitchens.
Guests with severe food allergies, celiac disease, or strict dietary requirements should contact us before booking to determine whether the tour is a good fit.

What about severe allergies?

Please let us know about any food allergies when you book. We will share your dietary information with our restaurant partners and do our best to accommodate your needs whenever possible. However, because all tastings are prepared in shared commercial kitchens, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or prevent cross-contamination.
Guests with severe or life-threatening allergies should carefully consider whether this experience is appropriate for them.

Are drinks included?

Water is available at every stop, and we encourage all guests to stay hydrated, especially at our high elevation. Alcoholic beverages are not included but may be purchased by guests 21 or older with valid government-issued identification (U.S. ID or foreign passport), subject to each restaurant’s policies. Any alcoholic beverage must be consumed during our scheduled stop and may not be carried between locations.

Dayworthy Tours encourages responsible alcohol consumption. Guests who appear intoxicated, consume alcohol excessively, behave disruptively, or negatively impact the experience of others may be removed from the tour without a refund at the sole discretion of the guide.

A charismatic tour guide wearing a rust orange baseball hat with white embroidered text "Dayworthy Tours" and a casual flannel shirt, leading a small diverse tour group down a charming mountain town street in Vail, Colorado. The group is a natural mix of ages and sexes — a young couple in their late 20s, a middle-aged couple in their 40s-50s, and an older couple in their late 60s, all casually dressed with no cameras or backpacks. The guide is facing the group slightly, pointing out features of the surroundings and engaging warmly and naturally. The street is lined with alpine-style architecture, boutique shops, and mountain scenery in the background. Warm golden natural light, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Wide landscape shot suitable for a full-width hero background image.

Logistics & Meeting Up

Getting there and getting ready

Where do tours meet?

We meet at a central spot in Vail Village, and you’ll receive the exact meeting point and directions in your booking confirmation. Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled departure to ensure the group is ready to depart promptly at our start time. The guide will be wearing a rust orange hat with “Dayworthy Tours” written across it and will be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour.

What should I wear?

Comfortable walking shoes for the elements. Mountain weather shifts quickly, so dress for the conditions and bring something warm even on sunny days. We’ll be on our feet and moving between stops. Please be prepared to be outside between stops in all weather conditions (hot, cold, raining, snowing, etc)

What happens if it rains or snows?

Tours operate rain, shine, or snow—after all, that’s part of experiencing the mountains. Most of our time is spent inside our restaurant partners, with only short walks between stops. Vail’s heated walkways and pedestrian-friendly villages make exploring comfortable year-round, but we recommend dressing appropriately for the weather. In the event of severe weather or conditions that make operating the tour unsafe, Dayworthy Tours may modify, postpone, or cancel the tour.

What if I’m running late?

Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled tour time to check in and meet your guide. If you’re running late, give us a call as soon as possible. To respect our restaurant partners and fellow guests, tours depart on time and cannot be delayed for late arrivals. Guests may join the group along the route, but tastings will not be saved if not present when served.

We give final counts to our partners an hour before the tour begins, so Guests who miss the tour due to late arrival are not eligible for a refund.

What’s your cancellation policy?

72+ hours before your tour: Full refund or complimentary rescheduling.

48–72 hours before your tour: 50% refund.
